Heather Eliason

Heather Eliason

Heather Eliason is a proud active duty Marine Corps spouse who met her husband while they both attended Penn State University. In 2018, she was selected by her husband’s command leadership to represent the unit at the inaugural Camp Lejeune Leadership Conference.

Most recently she completed a master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with the intent to bring meaningful behavior and process change to the organizations that she is passionate about. What she enjoys the most is helping teams and organizations realize their potential through comprehensive data-driven, strategic plans. In the future, she hopes to become an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist and help support branches of the Department of Defense with applicable operations research.

Professionally, Heather, like many military spouses, has had a career filled with pivots and cross-country moves. She has done everything from management for a national pet retailer to marketing for a small nonprofit. She has even had experience successfully launching and operating several small businesses.

Heather believes that to thrive in the military lifestyle you must be plugged in and connected to your current community. It is through this belief that Heather sees volunteerism as a key ingredient for success. Currently she serves as the vice president of the Monterey Bay Spouses Club, a philanthropic social group that provides military spouses scholarships. Additionally, for the last year, she has also cared for a community preschool garden.

During her time on MOAA's Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council, Heather hopes her firsthand experience will contribute to creating comprehensive solutions for our nation’s military families.
