Jackson enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1983 and was appointed a Warrant Officer in 1992. She held Administrative Officer positions of increasing responsibility in ground and aviation units. Jackson served as a Personnel Administration Readiness Inspector, led several Service-wide process improvements, and directed multiple unit mobilizations and deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom prior to retirement in 2003.

She currently serves as the Director of the Assault and Harassment Prevention Office in the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration. Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminology, a master’s in Technology Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland University College (Global Campus).

A graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, Jackson was a Fellow in the Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Program and a Fellow in the White House Leadership Development Program.
