AmazonSmile Program Ends, But Need for Support Remains

Amazon shoppers worldwide have supported MOAA’s two 501(c)(3) organizations, The MOAA Foundation and MOAA Scholarship Fund, through the AmazonSmile program since 2015, with The Amazon Foundation donating almost $6,000 to support the work of our charities.

With only 0.5% of eligible purchases donated, it is evident that a large community of individuals selected one of our charities to benefit from this program, and we are extremely grateful.

The AmazonSmile program closed Feb. 20. While we are sad to see it go, we want to thank the community of donors who have chosen to support The MOAA Foundation and MOAA Scholarship Fund over the years, and thank Amazon for providing consumers with an easy way to support our missions.

That said, The MOAA Foundation and MOAA Scholarship Fund still need your help. Here are some of the many ways to continue to support these crucial missions:

  1. Make a tax deductible donation using our secure online portal.
  2. Join The MOAA Foundation’s Heritage Society and receive exclusive membership benefits.
  3. Contact MOAA and learn how to create a designated scholar scholarship, so you can correspond directly with a student who is benefitting from your generosity.
  4. Include The MOAA Foundation and/or MOAA Scholarship Fund in your planned giving.

Despite AmazonSmile ending, MOAA Charities is thrilled to continue working with Amazon in other capacities. For example, the company has agreed to support The MOAA Foundation's efforts to provide career and transition services to separating servicemembers, veterans, and military spouses.

We look forward to engaging those who have supported us through AmazonSmile in new ways and will continue to find innovative methods to fund the programs and services that serve our nation’s heroes.
