Mission

The  Military  Officers  Association of America -  Ancient  City  Chapter  (MOAA-ACC)  is  a  non-profit  501C(19)  and 501C(3)  organization,  dedicated  to  improving  the  general public's knowledge and understanding  of the men  and  woman  who  serve  in  the  United  States  Armed  Services.  MOAA-ACC,  along with  MOAA  National,  advocates  through  the  political  process  in  matters  pertaining  to  active  duty,  retired and  former  military  personnel,  and  for  a  strong  national  defense,  while  providing  needed  support  to  the St. Augustine and St. Johns County community.

Chapter Activities

In cooperation with the Florida National Guard Bureau, the Chapter conducts two Veterans observances each year. Each Memorial Day, the Council, assisted by National Guard Headquarters staff, conducts observances at the St. Augustine National Cemetery, 104 Marine St., St. Augustine. Each Veterans Day, the Council assists the National Guard at ceremonies conducted at the City of St. Augustine's Special Events Field, west of the Castillo de San Marco. In December, we work with the Salvation Army to provide funds and gifts to deserving families in St. Johns County.

Legislative Issues

The Ancient City Chapter supports the MOAA National Legislative Agenda. The Chapter is also active in supporting the Florida State Council, addressing Florida state Veterans' issues.

About Our Chapter

The Ancient City Chapter meets at the Guy Harvey Resort, St. Augustine Beach, FL at 1730 on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, excluding June, July and August, when there are no meetings.  Attendance is usually about 50, with a guest speaker at each meeting. The Chapter publishes a monthly newsletter. Membership is currently above 60 members, most of whom reside in St. Johns County.
