Rear Adm. Scott D. Deitchman, USPHS (Ret)

Rear Adm. Deitchman earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He earned a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University.

 

Deitchman served 30 years in the United States Public Health Service including assignments as Assistant Surgeon General, Medical Advisor for Homeland Security Affairs in the Office of the Vice President, and led the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) responses to the 2004 Asian tsunami disaster, the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor emergency.

 

Since retirement from the USPHS in 2017, Deitchman is a Principal with Gordon & Rosenblatt LLC, New York. He is also an adjunct associate professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Md.
